Yea, I've been down the coast 4 times and usually go inside

() at Cape Mendicino. We went further out so we could actually sail the whole way instead of motoring around. Our friends left Eureka the same time we did and went close in. They actually got hit with the heavy stuff a couple of hours before us and got out a couple hours before us. In closer is a better approach.
