As it seems the weather is not going to cooperate anytime soon, I am working on projects down below. One of which is to refinish the teak and holly sole. There are areas (about 3-4%) where the varnish has worn away, as well as a couple where it has peeled. Original plan was to sand the entire surface down to bare wood. However, I have a bunch of unused containers of stripper . Besides the fumes, is there a downside to using paint stripper to remove varnish, or, is there a preferred method of stripping teak and holly?
