I would strongly suggest that, if you can, that you take the old board that is damaged by moistur and seal the bottom and edges with WEST EPOXY that you trowel-on.

Then I'd also caulk or otherwise seal the shower pan (sometimes it a drip from the mast fittings or other items from above that is being conducted down by gravity ;^). So don't count on solving the problem at the source(s).
