That is a fabulous article. Whatever the thickness of the veneer we have, it looks like the cross section shown, but it does not look anywhere near as bad as the stuff they are refinishing. I have maybe a total of a square foot of surface that has no varnish and maybe a 4" x 4" square that is dark from moisture (I'm guessing from the shower pan).
