We spent a couple days there in early September. Just like anywhere in the northeast, there were fewer boats than we've seen in past visits in August. No problem getting a mooring (Earl had just come through as well), most were vacant. Mooring fee was 60.00/night. We've anchored here as well but if the winds blowing the holding is questionable(we've dragged in the past).
It's a beautiful big harbor with a lot of activity but peaceful and well enough protected to be comfortable. There's a large dinghy dock and building housing showers, ice and recycle/trash bins that is convenient to town and the bus.
I took this sailing away from the dinghy dock. It's good sailing inside the harbor, several daysailers were out making good use of it this day.
