My Garmin chartplotter comes pre-loaded with US coastal charts and that's satisfactory for coastal
cruising in the US, but it does not support optional cartridges/disks for Canadian waters. I must admit
that I've gotten spoiled: while I have paper charts and use them, I also really like using a chartplotter.
So... for those of you who go to Canadian waters - or, for that matter, waters outside of US coastal
waters - what have you been using? What brand chartplotters with what types of charts? Obviously,
there are some big price differences here - especially for optional e-charts. Or, do some of you
use a PC (or laptop or netbook or whatever). How has this worked out ?
