btw, most - if not all - of the problems you identify for using a computer can be overcome - for a price. And, the 'marinized'
computers with screens that are viewable in sunlight are still quite pricey! More pricey than most chartplotters
- and I think they are significantly more power hungry than dedicated plotters.
