Doing a bit of last minute prep prior to hauling out for winter. Started the engine on the mooring to warm it up for an oil change.... while it ran I started to winterize the fresh water system (there's a freeze warning for tonight).... 15 or 20 minutes later realized I forgot to open the engine's raw water intake. &^%$#!!! How could I be so stupid?

Spent the next hour and a half removing hoses and hunting for impeller bits in the heat exchanger, and replacing the impeller. I hate when that happens! Never found the bits but the flow seems good and I figure they were small enough to get through. Engine seems none the worse. New impeller, new oil, fresh water system winterized. Took twice as long as it should have.
