Well, like I said in my other post,

a set of Sunbrella "Chaps" will go a long way to extend the life of any boat. I would still give "Avon North America" a call just to see what they say. Was it an after market Avon? Mine was a West Marine Avon but I don't know if that makes a difference or not.
