I have a Lovett pump on board that went on automatically as the water in my bilge rose from A/c run off. It came on perfectly, but after the bilge was emptied, the pump didn't shut off. I had to pull the fuse that I have wired directly to the master breaker on the DC panel. So I removed the pump and added a brand new Rule 500 automatic pump for the winter since I will be storing in the water. Yesterday while winterizing the pump came on in the automatic mode but again wouldn't shut off!! My only idea is the manual switch (a circuit breaker in my panel with a 5 amp rating). I did use the exact same wiring for both pumps (brand new 12-3 anchor wire). Anyone have any ideas here? It seems no coincidence that both pump s suffered from the same problem????
