I thought it might be the on-off switch, since I don't know how likely it is that the float switch on a brand new pump is bad (this is what I thought with the Lovett that I pulled and found that one of the bolts that holds the micro switch was missing. this causes the switch to be out of a narrow (.006in) gap to a rod that is activated by the float arm. I am waiting for a new bolt from Lovett. The Lovett switch was fine.
