• How the hell does an engine room fire take out the entire ship?
  • It's the engine room where all the engines and generators are.
  • because it only has one engine room?
    • You would think that would be stand.ard
  • I suspect a lot of cruise ships are built to minimum international standards.
    • Cruise ships aren't really ships any more, they're just floating resorts that move under their own power.
      • But only till something takes out the power plant...
    • Apparently they did have some Aux power...
      • The one cruise ship I worked on had the back generator on the secon deck
        • We had a fire in a vehicle/cargo store room once...
    • I suspect the navy uses the more expensive oil because they have taxpayer's money
    • They are really just floating power plants
