Going cruising, then the La Vac is the BEST choice bar none!!!! we wrote in our one year gear report ( http://www.svguenevere.com/2005/gear.html );
"Absolutely the BEST head we have ever had aboard a boat! The seals on the lids keep all the bad smells at 0! As long as it's mounted per the directions, it almost pumps dry. We have set it up so that the same pump will work for the head AND the holding tank (for offshore work), and a deck pumpout."

And it's still true. We have replaced a lid seal, and that is ALL the work we we have done so far!
NO OTHER head works as well for long term cruising. See it at: http://www.lavac.com/ and you can now get them from a number of sources. We rely on our mail forwarding service (St. Brendan's) for the parts as they carry them.
