It's not unusual for someone to come by in the AM, and ask about the Bebi Owl lights. I have probably "sold" quite a few for Michael.
Due to our unusual (28ft) beam, I hang two on the shrouds, one each side of the boat, at about 6 feet above deck level. That assures one is always visible from the sides, and that someone approaching from fore/aft doesn't cut it too close (not realizing our beam). Keeping it low also sheds some light on the deck and makes us more visible for those who fail to look up.
The one downside to the brightness of the Bebi lights, and having them low, is that we have been yelled at to shut them off for fireworks displays. Under that circumstance I used the regular 10w masthead anchor light.
