to remove and replace them. What a bummer. I had a friend that had the exact same boat and that's what it cost him. He had to remove the entire galley, part of the head and cut out the teak and holly floor. Replace the tank and have the entire interior rebuilt. I managed to dodge that bullet by contacting a company named American Tank located in San Diego. He charged me $3,000.00 to remove the old tank and replace it with three smaller tanks that he was able to slide in under the cabin sole with out cutting anything other then another access hole where he made up the connections. The new hatch looks just like the other three in already in the sole for water valve access, inspection plate access and the mast step. Here is a picture of him cutting out the old tank from in front of the engine. He cut out a section and handed it up to me. This went on all day long. As he ran out of stuff to cut he would drag the rest of the tank towards himself and continue cutting.
