Calisto: Can you try a different serial to USB adapter
I'm assuming it's not a serial MOUSE to USB adapter.

- The problem is he is not using a com port.... but a USB port...
- It still get assigned a Com Port, Doesn't it.
- USB by it's nature is generally plug and play...
- Sometimes USB Devices are assigned Com Ports
