update: ask a question about wire strippers and....
In Response To: best wire stripper? ()

Ask a question about wire strippers and... buy another kind of crimpers. I already purchased the Ancor double crimp ratchet tool and last night I put in an order
for the Anchor 70210. I could have purchased the WPO42 from Sailors Solutions for $40 but (after much searching) I found a good price for the Ancor tool (less
than $53.50 new) and went with that.

I'd buy a Ideal Stripmaster 45092 too but I'm still looking for the best price AND I'm a bit confused by the labeling. It LOOKS like the 45-092 is the same thing
as the 45-292, but I'm not sure. For instance, Amazon (which does NOT have the best price on this tool) has it listed as:

"Ideal 45-292 Stripmaster Wire Stripper 10-22 AWG (45-092 P.O.P)"

Now - excuse my language and stupidity - but WTF is a P.O.P? If you search online for what P.O.P. is an acronym for, there are DOZENS of possibilities.

On a related topic: for onboard use (in my book that means no corded AC tools), what do you use for a heat gun?

It's snowing (lightly) outside and the boat's in winter storage: perfect time to spend some (more) $ on boat-related goods!

PS: I asked previously about 'portable' chartplotters and purchased the Garmin 640.
I asked before about 'survival suits' and purchased on ebay the Mustang Survival MS-195 Work Suit. (yes, I know it's not the same thing as an immersion suit)
So, I have been listening to what you say, but (of course) make my own decisions.
I also bought another dinghy (another Tinker Tramp) but that's sort of a long story and involved another Board member!
