I've become pretty fluid with the modified Brummel Splice now. When I first started they would take about 45 minutes each, and I had to keep referring to the directions. Now I can do the Brummel lock itself (the complicated part) in about 1 minute. The rest is measuring, marking, taping, cutting the tail taper, and finishing the bury -- all pretty straightforward, but they still take about 15-20 minutes because measuring, marking and cutting the taper takes a bit of time (the tail should be 72-times diameter and tapered, so use a 36 inch bury and cut 1 strand every inch to taper the last foot on 1/2" line).
