We bought an assym spinnaker last year and have been using it a lot. I use a snatch block on the aluminum toe rail, but it doesn't provide a very good lead. The angle is so low that the block is forced into an awkward side stress that might break it one day. A second issue is that I'd like to keep the block as low as possible, to avoid rubbing on the rail-mounted solar panels (the panels used to be mounted higher, but I had to lower them this year to accomodate the new bimini - oh what a tangled web we weave).
I've been trying to think of creative ways to get a fair lead for a block, and keep it as low as possible - or even outboard of the toe rail if there is any way to do that. Maybe even a strap that holds a block on the outside of the toe rail Anyone have any ideas? Hopefully the attached picture will show the issue.
Thanks,
Max
