I do have the turning blocks with bail, but they're not outboard enough for a spinnaker sheet. The spin sheet really needs to be led to the rail to clear the stanchions (to say nothing of my solar panels).
I think the toe rail is probably adequate for the spin sheets; I've used it before for the symmetric spinnaker without any trouble, and the guy in particular has quite a load.
I discovered Wichard makes a device for getting a pad eye onto a toe rail. I might see whether this would be suitable (I'd have to drill a devoted hole for them, they're not designed for the large oval openings of our Nordic toe rails).
Failing that I'll probably try the strop idea. The inner edges of the toe rail are a bit rough, so perhaps I'll do a strop to a long shackle, or else run a strop thru some kind of super chafe gear.
