I may have asked this before, sorry, don't recall. I'm looking for a good camera. I'm not a photographer, but I'd like to learn how and to take good pictures. I probably ought to take a class, I've not ever really used a camera before. I have a small, older point & shoot that I use more for utility, but I'd like to step up. We spend 3-4 months on the boat in the Bahamas, we live in the Rocky Mountains of south central Idaho, so something for mostly landscape, some candids, but something light and easy to carry in a pack for hikes. I probably don't want to get too carried away with gear. Price is not really an issue, don't need to go overboard, but I don't mind spending a little to get something nice, easy to use, and well made with options, that will last me a long time. Is +/- $1000 a reasonable amount of money to spend ?
Any suggestions would be appreciated ...
thanks, cheers, John
