Not tring to be a wise A$$ but

If you have not been using the old point and shoot for taking a lot of picture it not likely that you would use a new camera. We have 2 canons ( 8 meg and a 10 meg, can not see a different in pictures), I would stay with a point and shoot, most do a good job of taking pic. I find picture taking to be work, but enjoy it when I am in the mood. I keep thinking that we need another camera that we leave in the cockpit of the boat and take in the dink, it needs to be weather/water proof. It seem by the time someone goes below to get the camera we have miss the shot. shutter lag is my biggest complaint. I have a 4 X zoom, wish it had more. Can not suggest a camera as it has been sometime since I have looked at them. I would go to the web sites that someone above posted an read and read and then to a store and look at all the camera after I had a list of what I wanted in a camera.
