We had so many problems with our Olympus Tough 8000 (took it deep a few times and it leaked) we finally bought an underwater housing for it. One of the best things we've done while cruising. It opened up a new world for snorkeling. We never get bored and actually fight over who gets the camera to use snorkeling. The underwater camera makes it a lot more fun.

I found that setting the camera on program and shutting off all the extra stuff like 'image steading' or putting it on a 'scene' mode makes for less lag as it has less to compute before taking a photo.

The underwater housing is great. We have thousands of beautiful photos. Can't use them for much but they're fun to take and bring snorkeling to a new level. They make a housing especially for the camera. Well made with all controls. 200 dollars.
