Shaw's Cove in New London

I returned here yesterday and have been preparing the boat for the storm since. I would describe Shaw's Cove as a geuine hurricane hole (dock slips only - no anchoring) but still this storm makes me nervous.

There are very few good places in New England and LI to hole up. Mattituck Inlet is nice but I bet there's no room there now - to anchor or go to a slip. I bet the same thing is true for just about all the cozy holes in Maine too. Indeed, if a cruising guide mentions a location as a 'hurricane hole' in the NE than it's a safe bet it will be too crowded and dangerous.

Good luck, everyone.
