Hi John- Here's a photo of our feed pump mounting on the aft bulkhead inside an aft head locker. The rubber mounts don't provide that much cushioning.
The Seattle distributor suggested getting sections of rubber house, maybe an inch or so in diameter and using them as an intermediate shock mount. The pump is on one side of the hose diameter and the hose is mounted to the bulkhead on the other side of its diameter. This will reduce substantially the noise transmitted to the bulkhead.
I'll have a better answer regarding automatic control in about six months. It is a bit of a pain to be tied to running the system regularly to keep fouling from happening. Ours is pickled right now until we really need it in Mexico. When I worked for Discovery Yachts, one of the boats was on an automatic flush cycle and power failures and keeping flush water in the tanks were their own source of headaches.
Good luck with yours!
