I wonder if the boat sailed on or was nearby and she couldn't get onboard?

Over you go, and the boat sails away, on AP. That's my nightmare. I rarely leave the cockpit of my boat if I'm alone and the AP is steering. I'll often disengage and bring the boat into the wind before I go forward(I don't always use a harness if conditions aren't bad).

My safety is the towed dinghy which I can get into and then back onboard with. I doubt I could get back onboard otherwise.
