She was a rockstar singlehander back in the day. Glad she survived!

She was one of the first professional females to win a few races outright. She won Rhoute de Rhum on a 60' tri.

Also, this isn't her first flirt with death. If I remember correctly she was doing well in the Vendee Globe race not long after winning on the tri, SW of Australia when she broached and her cabin top was smashed in. Had to be rescued way down by the bergs.
