Hmm . . . I have always wondered
In Response To: Meniere's Disease for Sailors ()

. . . whether I had it. I've had two brief episodes of vertigo over the past 4 years (when I mentioned it to my doctor he just shrugged his shoulders). After reading up on symptoms I thought about Manieres, since I have also suffered tinitis and ear pain in the past.

Haven't had problems for about two years now -- no tinitis and no vertogo -- haven't been doing anything special (certainly haven't reduced salt) -- but I have switched to a mostly-vegetarian diet in the last year (meant to join that thread with some good recipes, but never got there).

I was a little worried about "what if I had an attack offshore" but the vertigo always seems to go away in about a minute, though I have to grab on to something to steady myself.

I sure hope I don't have a progressive version of the disease!! (or at all, since I am self-diagnosing).
