I have been after this Beneteau for years. The current owner and I have talked many times and could never agree on a price. He was always totally unrealistic, basing his asking price on what the boat was at one time, not what it had turned into after years of his neglect. Low and behold it showed up today as a listing with our local yacht brokerage. By my calculations, if an interested party offered him full asking price (which no one will), once the 10% commission is backed out he will realize about $1,000 less than we offered him, in cash. After paying 18 month of loan payments, other advertising costs and storage fees I would think he is taking a serious hit. Unfortunately, the boat is now 18 more months neglected than it was the last time (which is not the first time) we made an offer on it.
I can't explain it, this just seemed to be the perfect boat, perfect rig, perfect draft for us.
