They are a strange passion. I just finished Hemingways Boat.

It's a biography but with the twist of being told in parallel with owning a boat for a large portion of ones life. PILAR is a motorboat(still on display in Cuba), but still the life altering(I think) connections that are hard to deny when a boat is part of a life for decades, were nicely made for me. Even after Hemingway was unable to use it, it remained a part of his character(like that character or not...) up until his untimely death.
