1986 Yanmar with 4000 hours. Most times when I turn the key to start, there is no problem. Sometimes when I turn the key, all I hear is a click, the engine does turn over at all. I always am able to start the engine, some times it starts on the 2nd try, if not then on the 3rd try. Has never not started, or at least not yet. I don't think weather has anything to do with it, I'm either in Florida or the Bahamas, and I don't think there is any pattern like if the engine was recently started or not. Sometimes I think if I push the key in, maybe that makes a difference, not sure.

I'll start by looking at connections & wires, cleaning them up at the Panel, harness and Starter ... and the grounds.

Any ideas ?
