How about...
They won't slide if you add an extra wrap
Tried those knots for halyard climbers.
I use loops of Dyneema with Prussic instead of rolling hitch for anchor bridle
What about sewing velcro on it.
Why not use an Padeye or Folding Padeye and then simple attach the stap to it?
Do you want them to slide down the handhold?
