A small note of consideration vis a' vis flotation chambers.....
In Response To: Wednesday is PHOTO DAY! ()

This photo is of my little 12' fish boat which had flotation chambers built in fore and aft, four chambers total. While putting plates into one chamber for seat installation, I found water in it....the "flotation" chamber. I bored out plate holes in all four chambers and found one half full, the forward two three quarters full of water after 30+ years since this boat was built. Imagine my surprise....

These boats are still being built so I called the builder. He said he tells folks to check this once in awhile as in some boats water will over time pass through the fiberglass and build up. He suggest folks shake their boats or lay them up on their sides and listen from time to time.

I pass this on to anyone who might want to check this in their little boats of any kind with flotation air chambers.
