I have a Link 2000 with a 120 Balmar. 2 battery banks – bank 2 is the starter battery only. When the engine is running, bank 1 gets plenty of amps and charges up to 14.4 volts. Bank 2, the starter battery, charges slowly and only gets 3 amps in the beginning, when it should be getting 5-10. I have tested this with a down battery and a fully charged one. Also, the voltage, while slowly increasing, didn’t get higher than 12.7 after running the engine for an hour.

This happens when the battery switch is on 1, or BOTH. The Link says (and the reg. lights confirm) that charge, accept, and float idiot lights seem to be working, although I have not seen float for a while on either, but I have not been using the boat much. Wind generator does a direct dump into the house bank and the solar goes through a controller before a direct dump into the house bank. I tested the starter battery, but not each cell, and it tests ok. Any ideas?
