Was basically a box with a FET inside that powered the field of the alternator. It got its programs from the Link 2000R control/display. There were no adjustments to be made on the Ideal Regulator Module just a couple of connection ports and two LED lights, IIRC.. If you had an XAR or Balmar reg then yes you would need to make all regulator adjustments on that but it would no longer be a 2000 "R"...
