I can get to the bolt heads.
In Response To: Garhauer could make them... ()

I had forgotten about Garhauer. That's certainly a possibility.

But, like you, I have qualms about the eyebolt design. On the other hand, the Rival has a good reputation and I have not heard of problems with its chainplate design. (Not that I necessarily would have heard anything.)

The SS bar inside the boat is bolted to the bulkhead between the saloon and the head. There are cabinets above and a storage compartment behind the settees. The bolt heads can be accessed through the cabinet/storage compartment. The nuts can be accessed through storage compartments above and below the head sink (on the starboard side) and the hanging locker (on the port side).

The eyebolt lines up with the centerline of the bulkhead. It is mounted on a triangular shaped raised pad molded into the deck. The narrow end of the triangle points inboard.

It would be possible to bolt a SS bar to the bulkhead with the end sticking out through a hole cut in the deck. But it would slice through the side of the raised mounting pad. So I would have to build up the deck in the area to get a flush surface for a cover plate.
