But our present monel water tanks are the least bad tasting. We keep several gallons of drinking water(mostly from tap at home) onboard, a few always in the icebox for iced drinking water. On trips, we load up on drinking water and refill the jugs from good tasting taps along the way. Water in a big boat tank can be quite "old" tasting.

The worst tank taste was a fiberglass tank in a previous boat. I can still taste it.
