I was speaking with Chris at Alpha Marine and happened to mention that whenever we transmit on our SSB we have to turn off the Alpha Autopilot, as the SSB transmission knocks the autopilot off course. It's always been like this since I bought the boat 10 years ago. Chris said it's a serious issue, it could damage the autopilot even if the AP is turned off. I asked him where to start tracking it down, and he basically said I need to hire an expert to look into it. I may get to that point, but does anyone have some general suggestions if there is anything obvious I should look at?
