() I think they've only been deep cycled a few dozen times in their entire life span. The PO was the same sailor type as me but rather than trickle charge with a solar panel, he kept the boat plugged into shore power with a smart charger on them all the time.
btw, nice web site and boat blogs. I enjoyed them thoroughly.

- Mainesail has a good thread on Deep cycle battery life,
- 12 volt deeps seem to last me 5 or so years, the golf carts 7 or 8... all under three this spring.
