OK, I have to say at the start that I do not like inflatables. We use a Portaboat and love it.

The one way that I would go for one is if I could get one like a friend of mine made for himself.

What he did was take an inflatable, almost new, and mod it himself. He bought a SCUBA pony bottle (very small SCUBA tank), rigged a quick release valve to it. Attached that to 2 short hoses that filled both port and starboard tubes. Then he installed a pressure relief valve on each tube so they can not be over filled from the tank.

He uses the dink on a normal day to day basis. That way he always KNOWS the condition of it.

For passages, he packs it for fast access. He also keeps an ASB close by.

Why isn't something like this available for purchase? As I understand it, the only one like it was the Tinker, and I thing there life raft type is no longer sold.
