I chose the AT&T (GSM) version. Not for AT&T but the ability of 4G on a SIM card. I think???? that it will give me the most options when traveling as the Verizon (CDMA) version is only capable of 3G on the SIM. With a GSM 4G ability I'm guessing it will give me the ability to have fast wireless more places as I can pick the carrier for the area. Carriers are leaning in the direction of no commitment plans with as little as a week per pay which makes that easy.
Anyway, we had a good experience with the IPad and data from South Florida to Annapolis and offshor as much 15 miles. Now that we're back I'm terminating data till we need it again. Wifi works.
Great device on the boat but it made me frustrated, learning the restrictive operating system. INavX, the companion tides program and Intellicast HD worked great.
