It's max governed rpm is 2600. That easily gets the boat over 7 knots in flat seas. That's fine for,...a minute or two. But the vibration is higher, the noise level is higher and I'm sure the fuel usage goes down significantly as the boat squats and the the stern wave extends to the edge of the transom.

And I change the speed regularly, especially on an overnight, even take spells at only 5 knots just to change the drone. I've never believed that full out makes the diesel happier.

But mostly I run it around 2000 to 2200 which is hull speed, 6 to 6.5 knots or so.
