People with a lot of debt (new boats, gear, etc.) tend to fall out of lobstering when prices are this low for a while. Established people can weather it, particularly if there is a second income.

Interestingly, there are a few boats that haven't launched yet this season. Those boats are ready with all their gear ready, but the fishers say why launch now and make no money when they can wait until mid to late August and make some money.
