Well, while the Blackberrys haven't even ripened yet, fall isn't far off.

There's little more than 3 months left to my sailing season. The summer moves very quickly through it's stages here on the Maine coast. It's very lush and green here now with all the spring rain we got. Everything that grows, trees, bushes, all seem to have burst another size. Plants don't waste any of the summer here.

Seasonal sailing is such an old tradition in the Northeast and many other areas. Boats go in the water in the spring, back on shore in the fall, 4 months, 6 months?

Is that enough? It isn't for some down south or in areas where the season is longer, apparently. Those that chime in must sail longer seasons. They may even sail more, but that's hard to tell.

I have a built in appetite to sail and be on the water(it's only part of life for me), that has to be filled. That need is easily filled here for me and I recall some years in other locations, feeling less satisfied with sailing. I guess it's different for everyone.

Sweet corn will be on the stands soon, then you know you're there, mid summer, and the best is yet to come.
