I decided on the length partly due to materials on hand, partly for ease of trailering behind my Forester, partly for ease of handling. THe basic hull design is a sailboat hull and I expect it will be capable of the lower and upper Columbia waters and the San Juans, etc. I'll be slow but planning for the journey to be the thing...in relative comfort. Time will tell, eh?
