Practical Sailor did a write-up this month on thermal cookers. Seems like a great concept: you bring the contents up to a boil, place the pot in a vacuum flask, and the retained heat cooks the meal and keeps it warm for hours. Advantages include fuel savings, ability to cook a meal underway without leaving the stove on or tending the pot, avoid heating up the cabin, food doesn't burn on the bottom of the pan. I don't know if I'll run out and buy one, but the concept has a lot of merit.
