We do not use the pressure cooker and/or thermos together.

We use the thermos by putting the food into them, like I said with the steel cut oats, then boiling water. We heat what will be the contents in another pot/pan, then preheat the thermos with boiling water, then put the contents in it.

What I was suggestion was to make something like a "beer cozy" only for hot foods for our pressure cooker. Put the contents in, heat until just the start of the buzzzzz of the relief valve, then pop the PC into the cozy for dinner later. Saving me big $$$, but more importantly, storage space aboard.

We DID do something like that for a pot luck on the Baja. We made a big sangria in our stainless pressure cooker, put the top on tight and then put it into a soft sided cooler. Worked GREAT! Just unzip the cooler, open the PC and ladle out the goodness! ....
