I appreciate my old boat a lot on a cool damp September evening.

She is our foul weather gear. Winds get stronger now and nights get cooler in September. Add rain to those two, and you need a comfortable boat both for the more challenging sailing and at anchor. I love the simplicity of a night at anchor in foul weather in a snug anchorage.

A few comfortable dry places to sit, talk, read, cook, eat, watch the wildlife dawn and dusk, and sleep,... I guess that's about it. No, there's one more thing. Some form of heat is needed on a boat in September in Maine, then you have it all.
