It's usually a lot of work for us to take anyone, even for a daysail. But we still think it's worth it so we'll break the old 6-4-2 rule(old rules especially should be broken from time to time). Another idea that has worked is a great remote beach. Sometimes that's all guests need to feel the independence we often take for granted as we go where we want on the water.

There are rewards, sometimes. My favorite guest is a sister in law that has sailed many miles and spent weeks onboard with us over a couple decades. She's just a natural even though she never sailed before going with us. I guess that's why I married her sister.
