Hi,
Saw this one aboard the Seaward 46 at Annapolis, one of the silliest things I've ever seen... That "Nav Desk" is even smaller than it looks, I doubt it would even accommodate my 13" MacBook, and certainly only with the screen in an absolutely vertical position...
And, the only way that chair would be usable facing the nav station, would be by sitting upright on the forward edge of it. Furthermore, I didn't see any real provision for the installation of any nav gear or instruments in that space, can't imagine where you'd mount something like a SSB radio, for instance... This is for navigating by an iPad, and that's it...
Absolutely amazing, the point at which we've arrived...
"With our unparalleled navigation navigation system, the autohelm joystick allows you to pilot from the comfort of the high visibility indoor pilot station or from the cockpit wheel..."
That chair will obviously see far more use as an easy chair, but it is set so far aft of the U-shaped settee/dining area, that almost half of the group seated there would literally have their backs turned towards whomever occupied that seat... Maybe it's primarily intended for playing X-Box games on that flat screen, or something?
best regards,
Jon
